1. Combat Jump. In the dark of the night, fifteen C-17 Aircraft dropped down from 31 thousand feet and lined up at 600 feet over the drop zone. 1000 jumpers, consisting mostly of of Sky Soldiers of the 173rd Airborne, a few Special Forces, and a  Medical Surgical Team bit their lips as their eyes focused on only on thing. ...the jump door. The Troopers were yelling and stomping their feet for the light to turn green. They were ready, as they knew they had less then one minute of time over target to capture the moment when history would repeat its' self. The command they were waiting for finally came, "Stand in the Door!"  The light turned green,  "Go!, Go!, Go!," could be heard as they jumped into the night.

...82nd, eat your heart out!

13. Prayers for Sky Soldiers; The Towers, in San Antonio, Texas,  is a retirement of community outside the North Gate of San Antonio, Texas, Home of the Combat Medic.  Of the more than 500 people who live here, 90% are retired military.  They have a very strong prayer group.  The 173d Airborne Brigade, now serving in Iraq have been added to their list!
