Soldiers have a lot of moving parts. They require regular maintenance. They are human beings, not machines. They will do amazing things if they know you care about them.

A BIG thank you to the individual who posted the story link of A Company having tea. Ssg Haynes is my son and it did my heart good to see his name in print. I felt his frustration as well. The job our soldiers have been called upon to do is certainly not an easy one. May God grant peace and comfort to the hurting families of our fallen and wounded. We are here to support and pray...

I don't post much on here but I thought everyone would like to read this. I got it in an e-mail today. This is the best I have seen or heard about the war in Iraq. Don't Close Your Blinds - This one really makes you stop and think A letter to the Editor, in the Odessa American, Odessa, TX. The other day, our nine year old son wanted to know why we were at war ... My husband looked at our son and then looked at me. My husband and I were in the Army during the Gulf War and we would be honored to serve and defend our Country again today. I knew that my husband would give his a good explanation. My husband thought for a few minutes and then told our son to stand in front of our living room window. He said, "Son, stand there and tell me what you see?" "I see trees and cars and our neighbors' houses," he replied. "OK, now I want you to pretend that our house and our yard is the United States of America and you are President Bush." Our son giggled and said, "OK." "Now son, I want you to look out the window and pretend that every house and yard on this block is a different country," my husband said. "OK, Dad, I'm pretending." "Now I want you to stand there and look out the window and pretend to see Saddam come out of his house with his wife. He has her by the hair and is hitting her. You see her bleeding and crying. He hits her in the face, he throws her to the ground and starts to kick her to death. Their children run out and are afraid to stop him. They are screaming and crying. They are watching all this, but they can do nothing because they are afraid of their father. You see all of this, so. ... What do you do? "Dad?" "What do you do, son?" "I'd call the police, Dad." "OK. Pretend the police are the United Nations. They take your call. They listen to you explain what you know and saw, but they refuse to hlep. What do you do then, son?" "Dad, . . . . . . . but the police are supposed to HELP!" Our son starts to tremble and whine. "They don't want to help, son, because they say it is not their place or your place to get involved and that you should stay out of it," my husband says. "But dad, . . . he is killing her!", our son exclaims. "I know he is, son, but the police tell you to stay out of it. Now I want you to look out that window and pretend you see our neighbor, who you're pretending is Saddam, turn around and do the same thing to his children." "Daddy! . . . . he KILLS them?" "Yes, son, he does. What do you do?" "Well, if the police don't want to help, I will go and ask my neighbor to help me stop him," our son says. "Son, our next door neighbor also sees what is happening and refuses to get involved as well. He refuses to open the door and help you stop Saddam," my husband says. "But Dad, I NEED help!!! I can't stop him by myself!!" "WHAT DO YOU DO, SON?" Our son starts to cry. "OK, no one wants to help you, the man across the street - Saddam - saw you ask for help and saw that no one would help you stop him. He stands taller and puffs out his chest. Guess what he does next, son?" "What, Daddy? "He walks across the street to the old lady's house and breaks down her door and drags her out, steals all her stuff and sets her house on fire and then. . . he kills her. He turns around and sees you standing at the window and laughs at you. WHAT DO YOU DO?" "Daddy. . . . . " WHAT DO YOU DO?" Our son is crying and he looks down and he whispers, "I'd close the blinds, Daddy." My husband looks at our son with tears in his eyes and asks him, "Why?" "Because, Daddy . . . . the police are supposed to HELP people who need them. . . but these police won't help . . . . You always say that neighbors are supposed to HELP neighbors, but they won't help either . . . I can't look out my window and just watch him do all these terrible things, and, . . . . do nothing . . . so . . . I'm just going to close the blinds . . . .so I can't see what he's doing . . . . . . . and I'm going to pretend that it is not happening." This is too much for me. I start to cry. My husband looks at our nine-year-old son standing in the window, looking pitiful and ashamed at his answers to my husband's questions, and he says . . . "Son." "Yes, Daddy." "Open the blinds, because that man . . . he's at YOUR front door . . WHAT DO YOU DO?" Our son looks at his father, anger and defiance in his eyes. He balls up his tiny fists and looks his father square in the eyes, without hesitation he says: "I DEFEND OUR FAMILY DAD!! I'M NOT GONNA LET HIM HURT MOMMY OR MY SISTER, DAD!!! I'M GONNA FIGHT HIM, DAD, I'M GONNA FIGHT HIM!!!!!" A tear rolls down my husband's cheek and he grabs our son to his chest and hugs him tight, and says, ". . . it's too late to fight him, he's toostrong and he's already at YOUR front door, son . . . you should have stopped him BEFORE he killed his wife, and his children and the old lady across the way. You HAVE to do what is right, even if you have to do it alone, before it is too late," my husband whispers. THAT scenario I just gave you is WHY we are at war with Iraq. When good men stand by and let evil happen, son, thinking the greatest evil won't affect them, THAT is one of the greatest atrocities in the world." "YOU MUST NEVER BE TOO AFRAID TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT, EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO DO IT ALONE! BE PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN! BE PROUD OF OUR TROOPS!! SUPPORT THEM!! SUPPORT AMERICA SO THAT IN THE FUTURE OUR CHILDREN WILL NEVER HAVE TO CLOSE THEIR BLINDS . . . " GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!! Steven R. Chandler, CMSgt. 332 ELRS / Vehicle Management Flight Balad Air Base, Iraq This should be printed in every newspaper and posted in every school in America. Of course, that won't happen, so we'll use the Internet. If your blinds are closed, do nothing with this E-mail. If they are open, you know what to do.

I have sent 1 piece of mail insured & had no problems getting it to point B, but that was a while back. As for now, I just sent another expensive package, insured, today. I guess I will have to see if it makes it there. I inquired at the post office & they just told me to hold on to my P.O. receipt, the customs form, the insurance receipt, and the receipt for the purchase from the store. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Has anyone had any trouble with insured packages. a very expensive package we insured and sent never made it. We filed all the forms with the post office, including receipts, and are now in a battle to get reimbursed. they apparently need something from the army and my son, who is in the middle of nowhere, etc. This is a nightmare. Has anyone else had to deal with this?

This might be a really silly question. But why do they call it friendly fire? I can't imagine it being all that friendly. Just wondering how it got its name. Maybe Mr.. Bradley can help on that. God Bless you all and our soldiers!!

We were very blessed to have our son home for the past two weeks and enjoyed every minute. When our daughter said the blessing at our Thanksgiving table our son - who normally never says anything - added at the end "please bless those that can't be with their families today". During his time with us it was almost like the roles were reversed. He checked the computer several times a day to see if there were any updates from his fellow soldiers and was extremely saddened to hear of the most recent loss. The love, concern, and caring that our soldiers feel for each other is admirable. It gives me comfort that even though our son is not with us he is with his other family - his fellow soldiers.

Well I took my husband to the airport this morning to go back to Afghanistan. So I had him for 2 weeks!!!!! Our time together was wonderful. Thanksgiving was bittersweet. We learned of Spc Steyart death the night before. Actually I saw it on this site. The look on his face when I read his name broke my heart. They were in the same platoon together. He showed me a pic of Spc Steyart that he had on the his laptop. So needless to say, although happy to be at home, he was quite ready to get back to his guys. I didnt know Spc Steyart, but my heart goes out to his family and friends. And of course to our boys over there in Bravo Company 1/508th. I keep telling myself we're in the homestretch. And pray to God the next few months go smoothly. To the families of all our fallen soldiers, May God Bless You, and be with you this holiday season and always. Your soldiers will NEVER be forgotten by me or my husband. God Bless Our Skysoldiers!!!!!

I want to send a shout out to Sindy Beiderman of American Canyon, CA. She has been such a blessing to my son in 1/508. Sindy started a group called ACTS, American Canyon Troup Support. They support troops in Iraq and Afghanistan with packages many times a year. As I was getting ready to send my son a tree with ornaments and lights and all the rest of the stuff he called home to say he had already received one from Sindy. She works so hard and does it all with donations and I'm sure plenty out of her own pocket. So I just wanted to say THANK YOU SINDY! Check out the website at www.applepiepatriots.com and click on ACTS. Merry CHRISTmas and GOD bless to all, especially the men and women so far from home.

Ben, if you ever get on this site, I want to thank you for the great picture you sent me and the kids of John. It arrived Nov. 21, the day when we would have all been heading to Garmisch if John would have come home on r&r. To open that great big package and see him standing there in all his gear, gun slung at his side, and that ever present dip in his mouth, beautiful.. Made the entire family grin from ear to ear through all the tears that were flowing. Please get me your e-mail address! Mine is hrleigh2@yahoo.com.. I can never thank you enough for speaking at John's Vicenza service and sitting with me at the video conference with SFC. Williams. You are forever apart of the Doles' clan.. love to you.. To "just a mom" Derek Hines will absolutely be remembered along with the others listed. And Jaymo... you're so right. The closer we get to the end I start letting down my guard and think "whew! almost over!" And then you get woken up by something and realize.. woh! wait a sec... they're still there no matter how much time is left!! Those interested, Paslm 91 fits so well when our soldiers are in harms way. I don't want to preach or offend anyone so I"ll just encourage those interested to read it everyday and make it your prayer for your soldier. God Bless you all and your awesome soldiers.

Just want to send out a Happy Holidays to all the soldiers and their families. Also want to send out a special one to the children of Hyland, Murphy, and Doles. These children are strong, loving, and were all very close to their fathers. I can only hope they made it through Thanksgiving without too much pain in their hearts. As they prepare for Christmas, I can only wish that they will see the joy in the season and hold onto all the great memories of holidays past with their fathers.. And for the wives, even if you never thought you were strong, you are all holding it together for your precious angels. God Bless and keep every one of you..

I have just returned to this site after the loss of my mother, my son's grandmother. My daughter-in-law used Red Cross to get the message to him and was surprised at how soon he got the message. Thanks Red Cross. Although he was able to make contact with his wife he has yet to call home. I know his heart is aching in need to talk with his family. I pray that he stays focused knowing that all has been taken care of here and with him in our prayers. We pinned a yellow ribbon with a flag on her beautiful pink suit for him. I know that she is watching over him now. And to Cristina what a beautiful prayer!!! May I repeat your words "I pray God would go before your paths and you would lean on his understanding. I pray the yoke of the enemy's plans would be crushed and destroyed and that you would all continue to come out on top victoriously." And my condolences to our recent lost soldier. May God Bless his family in their time of sorrow. May God Bless Our Soldiers. Kathy

I don't have much to say, rather I just miss my soldier and have no one to share it with. I'm so proud of the guys and proud to be able to share to all those who have no clue what's going on in Afghanistan all that I've gotten to learn. I hope hope that the next unit he goes to will have something SIMILAR to this. I know it takes someone with a lot of dedication and I've never been able to use anything like this. It's great. I guess we've only got a couple more months to get through. To those guys who care to check this... you all are awesome and though we miss you till it hurts... we're truly proud of you and the job you're doing. I pray God would go before your paths and you would lean on his understanding. I pray the yoke of the enemy's plans would be crushed and destroyed and that you would all continue to come out on top victoriously. We love you... even those who served in the past.

I also want to thank Mr. Bradley for this great website. Not only for the present 173rd, but for the past. It is a book of history that I find interesting. I also found someone to make a figure of my son with so many details that I never knew about. Being a new military Mom I have learned a few military slang words. Thank you 173rd for the sacrific you are making for us soiled people. I also listened to the new song the 8th of November and would like to know more about that day or is it just a song. I wish to hear from some of the ones that know about this day. Thanks.

Hello everyone, Funeral services are still pending for our fallen hero Spc Matthew Steyart. It is time to take a deep breath .... and get back on track. Christmas is coming and we have Heros that are far from their families. Take the time to send a card to your loved one's unit !! Take the time to remember the ones who also serve - parents, spouses, children, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. They need are prayers of strength as they gather around a tree where someone is missing. Take the time to remember the families of the fallen Heroes - this is a time of incredable sadness. We need your prayers for an inner peace. Especially remember the Dole children - they face a Christmas without a father. Pray that for them the magic of Christmas is not forver lost. We are now counting down the days until out Heroes come home. Our ONLY duty is to support them and each other. This site is a gift and a privledge not a right. Most units have nothing even close to what we have here. Take the time to ask yourself - "what would it be like if I could not come here?" Then say THANK YOU Mr Bradley for the wonderful gift of this site, your time and your knowledge. Be thankful for what you have, take the time to be postive. Life is very short - don't let the last thing you say be negative. So often I see the lovely Italian girls write on this site of their fears and their suggestions, and sometimes it is obvious that they are having difficulty with our very difficult language. When you are frightened it is amazing how quickly a word can leave your head (for me it's just cause I'm old). Maybe one of you young ladies out there can volunteer to either be the contact for those who need help or be an unofficial translater to the rest of us. Most importantly - to our Sky Soldiers - we love you, we are thinking of you and we pray for you and your families. Take care, stay safe and stay strong. Love to all. Mommaski

You are completely right! And I am guilty of not being supportive regarding that. My condolences go out to his family! His family deserves the highest amount of respect, they are going through a horrible time right now. Your family is in my prayers, and know that your son will never be forgotten, never! If you all don't remember November 23 one of our soldiers was Killed and his families life is changed forever. I have been coming to this website hoping to see more condolences to the family, and I am ashamed to say that I have only counted 4. Hopefully His family has not come here for the love and support that Mr. Bradley intented this site to be for. Come on everyone lets move on and show the love and concern that we all hope will be there, if we are ever unfortunate enough to have to endure.

I am going to find a different Web Site since this one seems to have nothing but bickering on here, There are alot of great people on here but people can't just seem to let something go.I thought this was all about the troops and our Men and Women? This isn't about us, it's about our men and women out there!!! It's Mr. Bradleys site and frankly if he is asking for people to be respectful, then why is it always have to be such a discussion on this website? Why don't people just email him instead of posting it on this website? I speak 3 different languages, including Italian, and I am Native American, not that has anything to do with it, but I think you get the point. I just really like this website, but I am so sick and tired of people going back and forth with bickering. Can't we just focus and get along? Does someone always have to have the last word in? I am not here to offend anyone, I just wish it would stop. Thanks Mr. Bradley for everything, You are awesome and much appreciated!!! :) I hope this gets back to what it's really about, OUR TROOPS!!!

This link is to Roger Roy's BLOG about his visit with the troops in Afghanistan. He spent time with 1/508th. The link with the first mention of 173rd in the series is called "Going To The Mountains". His stay with 1/508th begins with "They Put Me Up In The Nicest Place". He even visited the Italian troops at their PRT in Herat, see: "Italian hospitality and fresh bread…"++++ "Orlando Sentinel reporter Roger Roy is in Afghanistan with U.S. troops who are providing security and training the Afghan National Army.""The troops include about 1,200 Florida Army National Guard soldiers, several hundred of whom are from Central Florida." http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/news_nationworld_rogerroy/afghanistan/index.html

hi ......i was checking up the side today and i almost had an heart attack. Im the first one who started to write in Italian and believe me i didnt want all this to happen.....i must say though that is great to see all the different point of view on this topic...Despite all our ideas on how we should write i must say that it is GREAT and WONDERFUL that each one of us loves the SKY SOLDIER......and that we all want and wish the best to them. I always pray for the safe return home of all the troops and especially of my husband. I also hope that this last few months will go very very fast......GOOD PLEASE BLESS ALL OUR HEROS (if you want i can translate all the previous messages so that everybody can understand what written)

As far as the italian writings go.. I agree with the proud father and the old soldier. We appreciate all the italians have done and will continue to do for our soldiers. It is just almost out of respect that we all know what the other one is saying on this site. Maybe if italians would like to answer a question in their mother language they can trade email sites and correspond that way. I also used the translation page that was given, and was also still very confused. It just puts everyone more at ease when we know what is exactly being said. God Bless our Troops.

I was just wishing that the messages as mentioned below (about writing in Italian) were originally written in English because there may have been a suggestion mentioned, that I could've found useful (and perhaps other people too). I don't think there is any ill will spread on this site towards the Italian people. I think the overall intent was this - if you have a helpful tip, please share it with us all, we might need it too. To others interested, here's a helpful translation website: http://babelfish.altavista.com/ As for Mr. Bradley's words, he's just looking out for our sons, brothers, husbands, etc.

Hello everyone, I believe the reason for writing in English is so the webmaster and everyone else knows what is going on. Not to be rude. We are dealing with sensitive issues. Information about our family and friends in the Armed forces. It is like playing poker and half the players speaking another language and the rest wondering what they are saying. We can get through this peacefully. Without offending anyone. GOD BLESS YOU ALL. John

To our Italian friends on this site - please don't be offended or think that those of us here in the States do not thank God everyday for your support of our men and women in your country. We have had the good pleasure to have our soldiers living in your neighborhoods for many years and you have always supported and loved us. I'm sure Mr. Bradley is concerned that whatever is posted on this site is supportive and not attacking our soldiers, or even giving away information that we have all been careful not to post. Since he, like me, has not had the opportunity to learn your language, this is nearly impossible. It's a difficult task to monitor everything that goes here each day and although I tried to use one of the interpretation sites to understand the Italian posts, it didn't do me much good. Please understand - do not take it as anything negative toward you personnally or your country's wonderful hospitality. Thank you for being with us on this site and thank you for caring as much about our young warriors as we care ourselves. May God Bless!

I may be the only one that feels this way, but, I was very disappointed yesterday at the lack of coverage by the news stations about our soldiers fighting the war in Afghan. and being away from their families on Thanksgiving. It all seemed to be about the Iraq war and how the soldiers there were coping with the holiday away from home. I sure wish they would have alternated between Iraq and Afghan to give our soldiers a chance to say hello to their families. I was comforted by my soldier who called to say that everything was OK and that they all had plenty of Turkey, even in the most remote areas of the country. They all managed to have a good turkey dinner.

Or else? Or else what? Are you going to close down the site? If someone can't read, understand or write in English they shouldn't post on YOUR site? I think you do a WONDERFUL service with your site but sometimes you get carried away. If people are being mean spirted or nasty, or constantly talking about bad things I can see intervening but another language - be thankful that someone is finding comfort on the site. If this is the worst thing that happens to us today we all need to be very thankful.

I was able to track down and get a hold of Pat Jacobs this weekend. I talked with her for quite a while and what a lady I must say! Without her knowning about it, someone in her "Santa" group contacted the paper and told them about her. She agreed to the interview not having any idea or wanting the attention drawn to her, that it would snowball (sorry) like it has. Due to her schedule, Pat is not able to come to this site anymore. I told her of your messages and she is VERY appreciative of all your kind words and how you want to help. Pat had given the interview a while ago and unfortunately by the time the paper finally ran the article, the boxes were already on the way to our warriors. EVERYTHING had been done! She worked very hard to make this happen so that it might be a little nicer for our men and women this holiday season. For those of us that would like to help other soldiers, Pat did mention another site that she said was started by a General's wife. Here is the link: www.giftsforheros.net God Bless you Pat! To the 173rd family, have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving, especially the WOMBATS 1/508 Alpha Co. 3rd Platoon. You are always in our hearts and thoughts. Stay WARM, Stay TOGETHER, Stay SAFE, and STAY GOLD!

Carol Morello, a staff writer with The Washington Post (newspaper) did a WONDERFUL article, in the Sunday edition (on November 13th), on Ms. PAT JACOBS and her "Shoebox Project" for our soldiers in the Brigade. Pat's son is also currently serving with the 173rd. You might try emailing the reporter and she may be able to help you get in contact with Ms. Jacobs. Spent some time with my son via web cam (best thirty bucks I ever spent) this morning. Chosen Co. 1st PLT 2/503. It was the first I have heard from him since he went back on the 3rd. Said he has been very busy and this was the first chance he had to get on line. He looked wonderful and said everyone was fine. He got his Christmas tree and the ornaments I sent right after he left. Said the microwave and table top made it too.

It is the name in sterling silver, red white and blue swarovski crystals and I have also put yellow glass beads in between, and 4-6 charms depending on how long the name is. I don't know if this is the proper place to place this info, but I just thought I would put it out there. Contact me by email if you are interested.

I got a email from my son 2nd platoon charlie company today. said all is well just wanted me to send him and his squad a toaster oven as they have many small pizzas and would taste better in a toaster oven. Said it is cold enough to snow but none yet. I ordered a deployment bracelet for myself I think they look real nice. I also told my brother about it as he has 2 sons in the army and thought it would be a nice gift for his wife. Winter has arrived her to Wis. snow, wind and cold just the kind of weather the deer hunters want. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

HI everyone we heard form our son 1 508 C co 3rd platoon on sunday he said thay had just got back from patrol he said it is getting very cold and asked for gloves, I found good ones at Costco very cheap, sent enough for the whole squad for christmas, they'll get them early but thats o.k. Also just wanted to let you know that a few weeks back I sent an email to a soup company Bear Creek Soups, which I have been sending to my son and shared where their product was going and how it was a comfort to be able to send something that would make my son's life a little more comfortable, I never even thought they would reply. But yesterday I recieved a large box with 30 packages in it they just wanted to help support our soldiers. It did my heart good to know that people care about our soldiers and just want to show their appreciation. thought this would encourage you all. liz spence

There are three options for flying your pets, at least with Delta, which is with whom I'm flying...One is only an option if you have a very small pet, they can fly in the cabin with you if they can fit in a carrier that fits in front of the seat in front of you. The second option is to check the pet as luggage...I was quoted $110 per pet for that, but its only an option if it won't get below 45 degrees at any of the stops because they may have to be on the tarmac for some time and can get hypothermia. The third option with Delta is to fly them in the "Pet First" program which treats them as cargo and they are flown in pressurized, temperature controlled areas, but are not subject to the temperature restrictions. This service costs more, although I don't know exactly how much.

I flew my dog back to the states the beginning of this year in March and he flew down with the luggage. I was going to take him back to Italy with me in Feb, but it is going to be too cold to fly him with the luggage. He is too big to fly in the cabin. He wont fit under the seat. I am just going to have to keep him with my parents. I also haven't heard from my husband in 3 weeks. He is 508th HHC. I have gotten a short emails from him a few times, but no phone call or anything. Hopefully they will slow down and have some down time soon.

To Holly: My husband isnt in the 503 HHC, but he is in the 508th HHC and he also told me that once winter came things would start to calm down and they wouldnt be so busy -but that too isnt the case. I dont know if it is because there still is no snow where they are located yet -but my husband goes out even more I believe. Remember, no news is good news -although that phrase stinks because I know how important it is to hear from your soldier. I will be praying that you hear from him soon.

Where would your dog fly if it's not in cargo? I mean, I understand the cabin, but wouldn't the cargo hold be a colder place for a dog? I'm just wondering. Anybody have any experience with flying a dog in the cabin with you?

I don't need any help or anything, I already have my reservation and have arranged for my pets to fly weather permitting and have spoken to the Delta PetFirst section to make arrangements for them to be flown as cargo if its too cold. Thanks anyways, but I have everything taken care of.

If you want take your pets with you to Italy check it at first with airline because many airlines in Europe do not allowed pets on board especially discount airlines like Ryanair.

If it is under 45 degrees then Delta can ship them as cargo, its more expensive though.

Melissa: You said you are taking pets back to Italy? I was going to bring mine but they said they wont fly them if it is below 45 degrees anytime during the flights and in Feb it is going to be 45 degrees. Just wondering how you are getting yours back to Italy. Or will yours fit under the seat?

I just booked my ticket for the most likely date to lock in a fare. if I have to change it, it costs me $200 plus the change in fare to change it. There are lots of cheap tickets to Europe from major airports...I have found the part of the trip that adds the most cost is getting from where I live to a major hub for the international flight....I bought my ticket already, jsut for a date I'm fairly sure my husband will be home, and its on delta (I'm bringing pets and wanted one airline the entire way) and was in the $700-800 range round trip.

I think the name of the song is the 8th of November and believe it is in regards to a battle in Vietnam on that date.

For those of you who have booked tickets back to Italy, did you book an open ticket, or how did you do it since we don't know exact dates yet of when they are coming back? Just curious. The prices seem very reasonable right now, but obviously I don't know when to book it for.

Check Shermanstravel.com and travelocity.com for cheap flights to Europe. Airfrance has one for 668$ and United and Lufthansa have some from NY to London for 293$. From london to Venice or Verona you can find flights for as low as 19 Euros. Then another one from NY to Madrid for 448$ and you can check Ryaniar.com for tickets from Madrid and London to Verona (sometimes you could pay just 1 EURO plus taxes!!!!) Remember, If you are going to Italy after Chrismast, better if you do so after January 6 because it is holiday in Italy and flights are more expensive. b

To Melissa, I think I have some information for you about your soggiorno paperwork. If you don't have your soggiorno and you are trying to go back to Italy. the CARABINIERI will ask you for a roundtrip ticket. You don't need the visa, because in the plane they will give you a European Visa that you have to fill put with your personal information (name, adress in Italy,...) and you can use that as long as you stay in Italy less than 90 days. It 's a tourist visa. If you are thinking about staying in Italy longer, you have to go to the LEGAL OFFICE on post and tell them that you need the soggiorno paperworks done within 90 days. I have a good friend in Italy (Padova) and her dad is a Carabinieri, I could ask her for some information other than this I am giving to you. I hope it helps you. Have a nice day, Beatriz Barreca

RE Support...We have a huge flagpole in our front yard flying the American Flag with the 173rd flag flying beneath--of course we have a light shining on it that comes on from dusk to dawn automatically, huge yellow ribbons hanging from every pine tree in our yard, and a Blue Star placcard hanging in the front window--you bet everyone in our neighborhood knows my boy's proudly serving his country! By the way, where did you find the DEPLOYMENT BRACELET?? I'd love to order one!!!!
